This QUERÉTARO tour’s departure day adjoins the arrival day for our SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE tour (24-10-28-MX-SMA), dates October 28 - November 4, 2024), making it easy to combine the two tours. If you join both tours, you receive an extra night of accommodations in Querétaro at no additional cost. The rate for the two tours together is: $4,200 double occ (single occ + $1,500)

General Tour Outline

SUNDAY:

Travel/Arrival day – the only scheduled event this day is our welcome dinner in the town of Tequisquiapan.

MONDAY – THURSDAY:

We’ll explore the towns of Tequisquiapan, Bernal, and Xilitla with the following included on the itinerary :

  • Visits to working artists’ studios including ceramics, wicker weaving (hard fiber), ixtle weaving (soft fiber), and glasswork.

  • A walking tour of the main plaza of Tequisquiapan and its artisan market

  • Visit to Peña de Bernal, a 65-million-year-old monolith with a height of 433 meters (one of the largest in the world).

  • Drive through the high desert into the Sierra Gorda mountains and watch the surroundings change as we drive through the lush biodiverse coastal side of the mountain range.

  • Exploration of the mountain town of Xilitla including the Leonora Carrington Museum, the wonderful surrealist Las Pozas gardens of Edward James, and optional mountain hikes through the natural beauty and waterfalls of the area.

FRIDAY & SATURDAY:

we’ll spend experiencing the contemporary art and the colonial architecture of Querétaro with a walking tour of the historic center and stops at wonderful museums and plazas.

SUNDAY:

Travel/Departure day, no official tour events are scheduled for this day
